[He's kind of awkward about all of this because he genuinely just doesn't know how to handle someone being nice to him and showing him affection or little gestures like gifts. His sister was the only person in his life that ever showed him anything close to it, but she's family. That's different. They grew up and survived together. Even things with Mick, he may have bonded with the Pyro, but it wasn't anything close to affectionate. No stranger had ever reached out a hand. No person ever took time to see his potential and try to encourage him to change. To be a better person. To show him he could have normal things like love. And that it wouldn't come at a price.]
